FAQ
where is it?
-
If it feels like you’re driving out in the middle of the country, you’re on the right track. We are located on a ranch property inside a beautiful warehouse gym.
when you arrive, go past the house to the ranch gate opening on the right hand side, it’s the black warehouse.
-
You are free to park anywhere in the gravel yard. There are no designated parking spots, so please be courteous of others who may be coming or going. You can also park on the street off to either side.
WHAT DO I BRING?
-
A Gi is the uniform we often use during training. It includes pants, a top, and a belt to tie around it.
If you have one already, great. If you don’t have a gi or belt, we will have loaners available for new students as well as gis to purchase for recurring students.
-
after reading what a gi is above, no-gi simply means, we do not wear a gi during our training. suitable no gi attire consists of form fitting athletic wear without pockets, zippers, holes, buttons, or other attachments. This is to ensure safety for everyone during training as things get caught.
Think compression shorts, leggings, rashguards, or nogi kits.
-
We recommend wearing shoes that are easy to take on and off without socks. You will be barefoot on the mats and will get sweaty, so think about breathable easy to clean shoes like sandals or slides.
-
BRING A WATER BOTTLE FOR TRAINING. WE WILL ALSO HAVE WATER AVAILABLE TO REFILL. PLEASE KEEP THESE OFF THE MATS NEXT TO YOUR SHOES.
GYM Etiquette
-
This is a close contact training, so please have respect for your fellow training partners. Be clean and fragrance free (no body odor, perfumes, colognes, body lotions, etc).
-
Please ensure your fingernails and toenails are consistently kept short. This is for your safety and the safety of other students during training.
-
Leave your shoes when stepping onto the mats, and put your shoes back on when stepping off the mats. This is to help keep our mats clean.
Because we might need to step on and off the mats at times, we recommend wearing slip on sandals. This avoids having to put on socks, or tie shoes each time.
-
If you have longer hair, we recommend having it tied back for training.
-
Please take out all jewelry before training. This includes body piercings, rings, bracelets, necklaces, etc. This is for your safety as there is a strong chance these things could break or cause injury.
-
This is close contact training. We ask that you please remove all make up prior to class to avoid any staining of uniforms during training. Thank you for understanding.
